I a bit nature lover, but I think the world would be better off without Canada Geese. I know I would be. This afternoon I was trying to leave work and I had two geese surrounding my car and they wouldn't let me get into it. I think they had a nest nearby, but for cryin' out loud, I'm not about to mess with a nest. Everytime I tried to get to my car, they would run at me and hiss. I got rather annoyed. I know where I am not parking tomorrow!!!! Hopefully the ground crew will move the nest so I can safely get to my car. The groundsman who ended up scaring the geese away told me that if I stand my ground, the geese usually back down. I don't care how it sounds, but when you have two rather large Canada Geese charging at you while hissing, it is really difficult to stand ground. They are the worst birds ever!!!

Happy Easter to those who believe! My husband and I had a good visit with my parents and relatives today and yesterday. I hope all had a good holiday!

Changes

I have decided that I need to make some changes in my life, changes that I know are not going to be easy, but they are changes that are going to improve my life and changes that I should have made a long time ago. When I find myself thinking that I don't want to make the changes or think about how difficult it is going to be, I know that the only way to start a journey is to take the first step. One step isn't difficult. Every day is one step and one step closer to my goal.

Toastmasters

Today I joined a new organization. Its not that I am terrified of speaking in public, its just that I can think of a million and one other things that I would rather do. Being in front of people isn't even what scares me. What I don't like is thinking that I am going to say the wrong thing and make a fool of myself. So, I figured the only way to deal with this one area that I have always felt weak in is just to go out and do it. So I did. My company is starting a Toastmasters club. In this club you work your way through a series of speeches. Its aim is to make you a more effective communicator and leader. So I am either really brave or really stupid. I don't know which one yet. I guess I'll see whenever I start giving speeches. I'm still not sure why I am voluntarily torturing myself. If it helps me advance my career and get me where I want to be, then I guess it will be worth it. We shall see.

Surprise!

I was so surprised this afternoon when I got a call from a florist with a delivery for me. I was just sitting at my desk attempting to work and low and behold I got this lovely surprise. I was really surprised because we had discussed it and said we weren't going to exchange gifts. I am very touched by the thought and the effort he had to go through to get the flowers to me. I have a wonderful husband! Happy Valentine's day!!

Weekend Visits

This weekend was wonderful! I visited with my parents, my brother and sister-in-law, my grandma and a close friend and her sons. I had a great time and am really refreshed and rejuvenated by the visits. The boys are absolutely adorable and are as sweet as can be. This friend is the type that no matter how much time has passed since we last spoke, we can sit down together and talk for hours. I am very lucky to have a friend like that.

The drive home was eventful, very windy. I had a difficult time staying on the road, but I made it safely. I decided to see if I could finish my taxes and the best news is, with our refund and 1 more car payment I will have my car paid off in March! There just may be a way out of hole that we dug ourselves into. So, that's basically it for my weekend. A weekend full of memories wiht a splash of planning the future. Oh, one of the best parts about being away for the weekend, besides seeing my husband, is the fact that my cat doesn't leave my side. He is so loyal. I love my Snowball!
